EPA's Watershed Academy offers a variety of self-paced training modules that represent a basic and broad introduction to the watershed management field. The Watershed Ecology module is an excellent introduction to watershed and stream science.

This document known as the RBP manual is the “bible” for most initial assessment programs.

This document has a very nice section on stream health which was produced for Oklahomans but is equally relevant to northern Minnesotans. View the stream section or get the full on-line report that includes lakes and reservoirs and wetlands and non point source pollution.

This excellent website was produced by Cristi Cave, a former fisheries student from the U. of Washington and is very well done and useful to a variety of age groups. She has managed to keep it on-line and add to it for many years.

Watch a time-lapse video created by the University of Wisconsin - Extension Discovery Farms program shows a hydrograph and trail camera pictures to illustrate the graph. Pictures are taken at one hour intervals in the Dry Run Creek watershed, St. Croix county. The time-lapse is from March 8, 2013 to May 7, 2013.
